Resident Evil: Extinction (September 21st, 2007)

Milla Jovovich reprises her role as Alice in this third installment of the Resident Evil series, and this time is joined by Heroes star Ali Larter.

The teaser trailer shows a decimated city with a kneeling Milla Jovovich crying out, “You maniacs! It was Earth all along!”

Just kidding.

Movies with guns and sweaty women shooting zombies are always popular, therefore this movie will be a HIT.

Into the Wild (September 21st, 2007)

Sean Penn has not directed a film in several years, and this film about a privileged young man abandoning his life for a new start in Alaska would probably be Oscar bait if it wasn’t for the inclusion of Vince Vaughn and the kid from Girl Next Door.

I guesstimate a NEAR-HIT.

Good Luck Chuck (September 21st, 2007)

With uber-hot Jessica Alba and, well, Dane Cook, Good Luck Chuck is destined for box office glory.

Dane Cook stars as a cursed-at-childhood dentist who falls in love with Cam (Jessica Alba).

Prediction: HIT.

The Brave One

I love Jodie Foster’s work, and have enjoyed her recent films, but can’t see this one garnering much commercial appeal.

Like 99% of her movies, this is another woman-gets-wronged-somehow-and-battles-back-and-overcomes-the-odds flick.

Prediction: FLOP.
